Week 26: Mid-Year Report
The
Theivamanoharan Academy
Mid-Year Report
Student name:
Kit James Raj Theivamanoharan
Teachers:
Mum and Dad Date:
8th November 2020
English
Kit has grown in conversation when it comes to verbal and non-verbal communication. Initially, his expression oscillated between deadpan (Bill
Murray) and wailing tantrums (Donald Trump). Over time he has become more interactive, smiling at funny noises and responding to changes in
tone. He also has a hunger for reading, putting books in his mouth and sucking
relentlessly on them.
Maths
Kit is considering digits more and more of late. He is
recognising the shape of these fingers and toes - and the space his mouth has to
contain them. He realises that four digits is the optimum, as five can lead to
his gag reflex being stimulated.
Science
Kit has experimented from birth with a combination
of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and methane. This flatus expelled through the anus
has increased in propensity and potency. Kit enjoys the science of his lower body
and seems to revel in this study of gas.
Food Technology
Although Kit isn’t making his own food yet, his
interest in taste has grown. At the start he was a fussy eater only taking his
mother’s milk; now, he is consuming sweet potato, butternut squash and other posh
vegetables that his teachers didn’t have until they were 25.
Dance
At first dance really wasn’t Kit’s thing. He showed
little desire to move his body. When, however, he discovered the power of limbs,
he realised a real enthusiasm for dance – like a Strictly celebrity that’s
gone on a ‘journey.’ He now enjoys dancing to Disney tunes with his female
teacher and Chuck Berry’s ‘You Never Can Tell’ with his male one.
Art
Although Kit was rightly described as a ‘work of art’
from birth, he was unable to produce them. Of late though, he has become quite
prolific; one of his works was even displayed in The Fridge Gallery (see Week 23). His favourite medium is hand and foot print, an ‘action painter’ in the
lineage of Jackson Pollock if you will.
Technology
Kit has recently shown an aptitude for construction –
or should I say, destruction. He likes nothing more than knocking down the
building block tower his male teacher has constructed for him. There’s every
chance, if he fulfils his promise in this area, he could be a very fine
wrecking ball operator.
Music
Kit was given a glockenspiel from birth. At first, we
had to manipulate his body into playing the instrument; now, he independently
strikes the keys with a violence that resembles the drum playing of Bamm-Bamm from
Flintstones.
PE
Kit showed a complete reluctance for physical activity
when he was born. Now, he is exercising regularly, doing gymnastic floor work
on the mat; and cardiovascular workouts in his gym. This week, he went swimming
with his female teacher, where she commented, ‘he really did kick his legs.’ When
the pools re-open, he can’t wait to jump straight back into his learning.
Overall comment
Although you shouldn’t have favourites in a class, Kit
is ours. He is our sweet, lovely boy.
