Week 26: Appraisal

Quality of Work

Initially Jude’s output was hamstrung by his propensity for sleep. Over time though he has stopped falling asleep on the job and, as a consquence, his hand-eye co-ordination and field of vision has improved.

Team Work

Jude has had mixed success with this soft skill. An example of this is how he defecates himself seconds after he's has been changed. It is this kind of gross impertinence that has his parents shaking their heads. He also has a tendency to go rigid when he’s getting ready for bed, meaning he’s more manipulated into his pyjamas than changed into them.

On the other hand, he can be very low maintenance, appreciating his parents have their hands full with a two-year-old; consequently, Jude will sit calmly whilst the chaos of toddlerdom plays out around him.

Discipline

Jude has shown a reasonable level of respect to his employers, although raspberries recently have began to creep in. It shouldn’t be stated- but it must- that Jude must not blow raspberries at his line managers. If this continues into his teenage years, then pocket money may have to be deducted.

Initiative and motivation

Jude rolled over about two months ago - and has twice since. For Jude to develop he must build on these successes, using momentum as a springboard towards further achievements.

Adaptability

Jude has come into a household where there is no middle ground. The Theivamanoharan Inc. brand is based on high-intensity work and high-intensity laziness. They are either marking books or watching television – nothing in between. With his early start and late finish, he puts the hours in. But his early morning siesta also means he knows how to rest too.

General conduct

Although Jude is our newest team member, he is the loudest. It is good that he’s getting his voice out there, but he must remember that a loud voice doesn’t necessarily equate to leadership. If he can replace high-frequency gurgling with words, then he could go far.

Recommendation

Despite there being areas for development, Jude has proved himself adaptable in a chaotic working environment. He is a cheerful, funny member of the team that lifts the colleagues around him. Personally, I’m happy to recommend that he become a permanent member of Theivamanoharan Inc.
